WHY I CREATED Chapter 50 Women
I'm Lyndsey, founder of Chapter 50 Women.
A place for discovering inspiring people, memorable places, new experiences
and fresh ideas for life after 50.
A few years ago, my own life looked very different.
Within three years, I lost my husband, my sons left home, my dog died and
I had to close the business I'd spent seven years building. For the first time in
decades, I found myself in a quiet house wondering what came next.
Like many women, I'd spent years building a life around other people, work
and responsibilities. Suddenly, I had the chance, and the challenge,
to ask a different question.
What do I want this next chapter to look like?
The answer didn't arrive overnight.
It began with saying yes to small adventures. Visiting somewhere new.
Meeting interesting people. Trying experiences I'd never considered before.
Having conversations with women whose stories deserved to be heard.
Those moments slowly rebuilt my confidence and my curiosity.
They also inspired Chapter 50 Women.
These days you'll often find me interviewing inspiring women, exploring
somewhere new, working on a home or garden project, or planning my next
campervan adventure in the van I converted myself. I believe midlife is the
perfect time to stay curious, learn new skills and keep creating a life that
feels like your own.
Long before this chapter, I'd already spent many years creating businesses with purpose. I've launched three award-winning enterprises, including an innovative product designed to reduce food waste, a green living brand and a social enterprise that continues to bring people together and improve lives across the UK and beyond.
Building those organisations taught me how powerful simple ideas become when they connect with people. They also taught me resilience, creativity and the confidence to start again.
Today, I bring those experiences together through Chapter 50 Women.
I explore the people, places and experiences making midlife richer, more adventurous and more connected. From conversations with inspiring women to creative workshops, beautiful days out and everyday discoveries, my aim is simple.
